According to the Center for Research and Application of Population Data and Citizen Identity, Ministry of Public Security, the implementation of the CCCD application with chips to replace bank cards is being piloted with a number of large banks.

In the immediate future, it will be deployed at some points in Hanoi and Quang Ninh. It is expected that in the near future, it will expand to the whole system. Currently, people in Hanoi and Quang Ninh can experience this service.

According to the leader of the Center for Research and Application of Population Data and Citizen Identity, Ministry of Public Security, the successful implementation of the citizen identification application with chip on automatic transactions will support the Bank in the process customer authentication process, reducing staff’s working time, eliminating the risks of forgery and errors in the operation process compared to the previous conventional ID verification check.
