Recently, the 52-year-old man once again successfully conquered the place known as the ‘roof of the world’, marking his 26th time.

Kami Rita followed the southeast ridge route, leading in a group of 10 other climbers. This is a pavilion route discovered by climbers Edmund Hillary, a New Zealander and Tenzing Norgay, a Nepalese, in 1953.

Conquering Mount Everest is one of the most challenging goals that man can accomplish, as well as one of the most difficult things that force the human body to endure the most during the journey. According to statistics, there have been about 10,657 people climbing Everest since 1953 and the number of people who have died on the way to conquer this highest mountain in the world is 311.

However, Kami Rita turns his journey to the top of the mountain into a hike, like an annual family vacation.

This man has climbed Everest 26 times, breaking his own world record done in 2021.

“Kami Rita has broken her own record and set a new world record for rock climbing,” said Taranath Adhikari, director of the Kathmandu Tourism Department.

Reportedly, Kami Rita’s group climbed to the top of the mountain and returned to the lower camps without any incident. The group reached its highest peak around 7 p.m. local time.

Kami Rita first climbed Everest in 1994. Since then, the man has climbed the mountain almost once a year. Kami Rita follows in the footsteps of his father, who served as the first mountain guide in the Everest region.

He is considered as one of the guides with expertise and good skills, contributing to the safety and success of hundreds of people who have conquered the 8,848.86 meter high Everest.

Kami Rita was also at Everest base camp in 2015 when an avalanche swept through, killing 19 people. After that tragedy, he was under great pressure from his family to give up climbing.

Besides conquering the top of Mount Everest, Kami Rita has expanded his range, conquering other peaks around the world. Good weather on Mount Everest only appears for a few days in May, favorable for climbers to conquer the world’s highest peak.
