The closer to the end, the more dramatic the film will be

“Underground Storm” – the current attracting work on the topic of solving crimes – right from the beginning when receiving this project, what about the film made you conquered?

– When I received the script and the invitation to play the role of Ha Lam, I was currently finishing the movie “Selling husband”. I was attracted to the movie “Underground Storm” because of the topic of solving crimes. Vu Ha Lam is a special agent scout and this character I have never experienced in previous roles, so I am very excited to take on this character.

As a Southern actress, how should you change to fit in with the Northern culture when participating in the movie “Underground Storm”?

– This is a movie broadcast on prime time. This movie is a big investment with the desire to make a well-organized police topic. I feel fortunate to have met a dedicated team.

Going to the North to shoot this movie, it took me 1.5 years to complete the role. I had a lot of problems with the culture, the weather, the food, having to live with a new situation. Although it is difficult, I feel interesting because I have a long-term project and away from home.

In the movie “Underground Storm”, Cao Thai Ha has many action scenes, fighting martial arts. The audience wondered how did you practice?

– People who watch “Underground Storm” will see that Ha Lam has many fighting scenes, catching robbers, including the scene where she fights with 4 robbers. These scenes, I do 90%. Of course, there will be scenes that need a stuntman, but to be realistic, I asked the director to do most of these phases to make the role better.

To perform for this role, I had to go to the North 1 month earlier to practice martial arts. I have had a lot of injuries, due to my physical condition, my skin is thin, so it’s always bruised and scratched.

Before filming the movie “Underground Storm”, were you afraid that the audience would doubt your ability when acting in an action movie or solving a case? Because Cao Thai Ha has not played this genre before?

– I have never doubted that I would do a good job or a bad job. I think anyone who does anything will receive many opinions from the audience, not only art. Therefore, I myself have to believe in my own strength. Only when I believe can I do well.

This is my first time participating in a crime-solving film, but I am not confused, because the “key” to do well is to believe in myself.

How did the audience react when watching the movie “Underground Storm” and her role as Ha Lam?

– Fortunately, when the first scene of episode 1, catching a naughty guy, I received many compliments. Everyone praised me for hitting well. In the following episodes, I almost gave up the scene to Mr. Ha Viet Dung. Now, I can appear more, when I am set as the lover of Dr. Hung.

Did you experience any trauma while filming?

– As I shared, from the time I practiced martial arts, I had an injury, when I went to the filming set, I had even more difficulties. Because of the difficult terrain, having to go to the top of the mountain, it was also very cold at that time. I filmed this drama like going through 4 seasons. The scenes of the chase and robbery were all traumatizing. Every scene has sweat, blood and tears.

In Ha Lam, the audience has just seen a fierce, strong scout, but somewhere still introspective and has a love affair with Hai Trieu. Playing the role of a variety of emotions, does it make it difficult for you?

– I see in Ha Lam there is strong fierceness and inner affection. I find this to be the character that has the closest resemblance to me outside. I’m also a strong person on the outside, but inside I’m sensitive and emotional, so it’s not difficult for me to play the role of Ha Lam.

Do you feel that “Underground Storm” is your breakthrough in 2022?

– For each role, I put my heart and effort into it. Whether a role or a movie is received by the audience or not, it is an experience. So any project is important to me. With “Underground Storm”, I spent 1.5 years away from home, now the audience loves it. It’s a compensating success for me.

As revealed by the crew, at the end of the film there will be many sacrifices, will the character Ha Lam encounter something?

– As for the content, I believe the audience will be surprised to see it. People who watch the trailer will see that the later, the more interesting, the details push to the climax, more dramatic. I hope everyone continues to support the film.

After this project, do you have any other plans?

– In 2022, when Underground Storm airs, I also participate in Victor Vu’s “Red Flower Tea”, this is a project that I am passionate about because I can cooperate with the director I idolize. This movie will be released in June. During this time, I will focus on business.
