According to information from the fanpage of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, it is forecasted that in the coming days, a part of cold air in the north will gradually shift to the south.

Accordingly, the upcoming cold air wave will take place from May 13-15, which can cause strong winds in the Gulf of Tonkin up to level 6, level 7-8. It is forecasted that the lowest temperature in the mountains may fall below 16 degrees, the Northern Delta region (including Hanoi) is forecasted to be the lowest from 20-23 degrees.

It can be said that this is one of the rare cold air waves in May in about 40 years, since 1981.

According to historical monitoring data of Lang station (Hanoi), on May 4, 1981, the average daily temperature recorded 19.6 degrees and on May 5, 1994 was 19.8 degrees.

In addition to the deep drop in temperature, it is also accompanied by heavy to very heavy rain from May 13, especially in the Northern mountainous region. High risk of multiple natural disasters: lightning, hail, strong wind; landslides, floods in mountainous areas, local flooding in low-lying areas.

Thus, there are only about 5 days left in the North to welcome the rain and cold.

The Center and meteorologists are still closely monitoring this disaster, the official bulletin will be released by the center in the near future.
