Covid-19 news today 10/5 Vietnam added 2,855 cases of Covid-19, an increase of 679 cases

The Ministry of Health said that on May 10, the whole country recorded 2,855 new infections in 52 provinces and cities, an increase of 679 cases compared to yesterday. Among the new cases, there was 1 imported case and 2,854 domestic cases, 2,467 community cases.

The localities that recorded the highest number of infections compared to the previous day: Bac Ninh (up 130), Phu Tho (up 117), Vinh Phuc (up 80).

Since the beginning of the epidemic, Vietnam has 10,681,214 infections, ranking 12th out of 227 countries and territories, while with the ratio of infections per million people, Vietnam ranks 104 out of 227 countries and territories (on average, there are 107,937 infections for every 1 million people).

In the fourth outbreak (from April 27, 2021 to present), the country has 10,673,462 cases, of which 9,322,117 patients have been declared cured. Localities with high cumulative infections during this outbreak: Hanoi (1,592,609), Ho Chi Minh City (608,776), Nghe An (482,845), Bac Giang (385,863), Binh Duong (383,541).

Regarding the treatment situation, the total number of cured cases was 9,324,934. Currently, there are 363 patients on oxygen in the country. In which, 24 cases of invasive mechanical ventilation and 2 cases of ECMO.

From 5:30 pm on May 9 to 5:30 pm on May 10, one death was recorded at: Tra Vinh. The total number of deaths from Covid-19 in Vietnam so far is 43,058, accounting for 0.4% of the total number of infections.

The total number of deaths ranked 24/227 territories, the number of deaths per 1 million people ranked 130/227 countries and territories in the world. Compared with Asia, the total number of deaths ranked 6/49, ranked 3rd in ASEAN.

Regarding the testing situation, from April 27, 2021 up to now, 39,502,320 samples have been tested, equivalent to 85,806,031 turns of people.

Regarding the vaccination situation, the total number of vaccine doses administered was 215,839,208 doses. In there:

+ Number of injections for people aged 18 and over is 196,563,745 doses: 1st dose is 71,453,130 doses; The second dose is 68,660,754 doses; The third dose is 1,505,947 doses; The additional dose is 15,243,434 doses; The booster dose is 39,700,480 doses.

+ Number of doses for children aged 12-17 is 17,389,915 doses: 1st dose is 8,912,636 doses; The second dose is 8,477,279 doses.

+ Number of doses for children from 5-11 years old is 1,885,548 doses (1st dose).
