Domestic steel prices are still “upstream” in the world

From the beginning of the year until now, the price of construction materials, especially the price of steel, has continuously recorded different increases and decreases. Notably, steel prices have increased many times and remained at the peak since March, causing many contractors and investors “headaches”.

Typically, the price of iron ore for September 2022 on Dalian bourse fell 5.1% to 825 yuan ($123.47)/ton, after four rising sessions. The price of iron ore for June 2022 on the Singapore Exchange fell 5.4% to 137.45 USD/ton and had the 5th consecutive week of decline.

According to the survey, the world steel price today (May 10) on the Shanghai trading floor continued to decrease by 89 yuan to 4,590 yuan/ton at the time of the survey at 10:00 am (Vietnam time).

Although, the world steel price on the Shanghai floor fell deeply, but in the domestic market, today’s steel price continued to remain at a high level. The domestic price of iron and steel from March 16 was also pushed up from 460 to 610 VND/kg depending on the company and remained unchanged until today (May 10).

Typically, steel of the brands Hoa Phat, Viet Nhat, Viet Italy, Pomina, continues to keep the selling price at the “peak” level from the beginning of April until now.

In the North market, Hoa Phat steel price did not have any price adjustment and remained at the peak in the past 15 days, CB240 coil price stabilized at 18,940 VND/kg; D10 CB300 rebar is priced at 19,040 VND/kg.

In the Central region, Hoa Phat steel has CB240 coil price currently at 18,990 VND/kg; D10 CB300 rebar is priced at 19,090 VND/kg.

The southern market recorded that Hoa Phat steel kept its selling price unchanged for more than 31 days with CB240 coils currently at 18,990 VND/kg; D10 CB300 rebar is priced at 19,090 VND/kg.

Vietnam Italy steel price maintained a stable series of days with CB240 coil price currently at 18,890 VND/kg; D10 CB300 rebar line is priced at 18,990 VND/kg.

Viet Nhat Steel continued its series of days of stabilizing selling prices, with CB240 coils at 18,820 VND/kg; D10 CB300 rebar is priced at 18,920 VND/kg.

VAS steel continues to maintain the highest price in the past 30 days, CB240 coil line is at 18,180 VND/kg; D10 CB300 rebar line is priced at 18,280 VND/kg.

Pomina steel price in the Central region with CB240 coil line was stable at 19,380 VND/kg; and D10 CB300 rebar is priced at 19,580 VND/kg. In the South, Pomina steel prices continued to be stable, with 2 product lines including CB240 coil at 19,430 VND/kg; D10 CB300 rebar is priced at 19,630 VND/kg.
