A federal judge in San Francisco has dismissed former President Donald Trump’s lawsuit against Twitter.
This decision of the judge can be seen as a victory in favor of Twitter. The platform asked judge James Donato, Northern District Court of California, to drop his unreasonable lawsuit Donald Trump.
In this case, Judge Donato held that Twitter does not operate as a government agency as Mr. Trump has alleged. The reason his personal account was locked is because he violated the First Amendment of the US Constitution on free speech.
The country’s constitution only prohibits government agencies and organizations from affecting citizens’ freedom of speech. Therefore, Twitter did not make any mistakes when it permanently locked the personal social network account of the former US president.
After recognizing some of the risks that could lead to inciting violence in former President Donald Trump’s speech on January 6, 2021, Twitter has strongly blocked this social networking account with more than 88 million followers. of Mr. Trump. During his tenure, Donald Trump has used his personal Twitter account as an extremely effective political communication channel.
However, Mr. Trump said that whether his account is unlocked or not then he will also “face” this social network. Instead, he and his team are developing a new social network called Truth Social that was launched earlier this year.
So far, a representative from the social network Twitter has not yet commented on the lawsuit.
