Step 3: Instead of using a password as the only method of confirming information like today, with the use of a chip-based CCCD, the ATM will scan the customer’s biometrics and the interface screen will display the authentications such as: face authentication, fingerprint… for identification.
Step 4: After confirming that it is the correct cardholder, the ATM will “release” money, people will be able to withdraw money.
In addition, at present, only a few banks take the test to withdraw money from CCCD at ATMs.
Despite the convenience, at present, the withdrawal of money by CCCD card with chip has only been piloted at a number of large banks such as BIDV, Vietcombank, Viettinbank… in the area of Ho Chi Minh City. Hanoi and Quang Ninh. Later, it was widely applied in other localities.
Currently, people can withdraw money from their ID card or CCCD at a bank branch. Accordingly, people must bring the original ID card to the bank’s transaction counters for withdrawal procedures if the money is transferred to the ID card/CCCD or when the ATM card is lost.
