Proposing not to pave the way through the world biosphere

The Institute of Transport Strategy and Development proposed an option to build a road connecting Binh Phuoc to Dong Nai without going through the forest of the world biosphere.

Previously, after many debates related to Binh Phuoc’s proposal to build Ma Da bridge and planning National Highway 13C passing through Dong Nai Cultural Nature Reserve in order to connect this locality with neighboring provinces, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. Transport assigned the Institute to research and propose plans. This unit once launched 4 options discuss with Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai to develop the most optimal plan, send it to the Ministry of Transport as a basis for reporting to the Prime Minister.

In the report just sent to the Ministry of Transport, the Institute proposes a route plan that will connect DT 753 with Dong Phu (Binh Phuoc) and North Tan Uyen – Phu Giao – Bau Bang (Binh Duong) roads to Ring Road. 4.

This option has the advantage that connecting Dong Xoai town to Ring 4 is the shortest of the options (71 km), the travel time is fast due to the use of the ring road in the future; reduce the load on existing roads connecting Binh Phuoc and the Central Highlands provinces to seaports in Ba Ria – Vung Tau.

The route also makes use of existing roads such as DT 753, DH 416 and DT 746; Dong Phu – Binh Duong routes are being invested to build 4 lanes, 8 lanes are planned; North Tan Uyen – Phu Giao – Bau Bang road is currently being invested and built, with a scale of 40 m.

To connect the route to Ring Road 4, the authorities only built a new 12km road and upgraded 4km, so the total construction investment is the lowest, expected to be nearly 300 billion VND. In addition, this option has little impact on Dong Nai Cultural Nature Reserve.

The route route proposed by the Institute of Strategy and Transport Development is similar to the plan of Dong Nai province, ie the road outside the world biosphere.

Ministry, especially the direction connecting Long Thanh airport, Ba Ria – Vung Tau seaport.

The opening of the road through Dong Nai cultural nature reserve, although the shortest route to connect Binh Phuoc with Dong Nai, but going through the core of the biosphere, has made scientists, experts and local authorities worried. hesitate, disagree. Because they believe that the road affects the natural ecosystem, environment, animals and organisms in the three core zones of Cat Tien National Park, Dong Nai Cultural Nature Reserve and Inland Wetland Reserve. Tri An.

Previously, not only protested, the Dong Nai government also suggestion The UNESCO National Committee in Vietnam gives opinions on building a national highway through a biosphere reserve of over 100,000 hectares in the area. This is one of the very few biosphere zones in the country recognized by UNESCO as a world biosphere reserve.
