Shanghai disinfects houses, closes all subway stations because of Covid-19

The AP news agency quoted Jin Chen, an official in Shanghai today (May 10) as saying that in old neighborhoods that share bathrooms and kitchens, anyone’s home who uses those common facilities will must be disinfected. Mr. Jin Chen tried to address concerns about damage to clothing and valuables by saying residents can notify teams of anything that needs protection.

Shanghai has also shut down the last two metro lines, marking the first time the city’s entire metro system has stopped working.

The latest measures come as Shanghai asks people in some districts to stay indoors, after allowing some people to go out for limited shopping in recent weeks.
