The average number of new infections in the country recorded in the past 7 days is 3,122 cases/day.
According to the Ministry of Health, since the beginning of the epidemic, Vietnam has 10,681,214 infections, ranking 12th out of 227 countries and territories, while with the ratio of infections per million people, Vietnam ranks second. 104/227 countries and territories (an average of 107,937 infections per 1 million people).
In the 4th outbreak (from April 27, 2021 to present), the number of infections recorded in the country is 10,673,462 cases, of which 9,322,117 patients have been declared cured.
Localities with high cumulative infections during this outbreak: Hanoi (1,592,609), Ho Chi Minh City (608,776), Nghe An (482,845), Bac Giang (385,863), Binh Duong (383,541).
Also according to the Ministry of Health, on May 10, there were 2,769 more patients COVID-19 announced to be cured, bringing the total number of cured cases up to now to 9,324,934 cases.
The number of patients on oxygen is 363 cases, in which, oxygen through a mask: 289 cases, high-flow oxygen breathing HFNC: 43 cases, non-invasive mechanical ventilation: 5 cases, invasive mechanical ventilation: 24 cases , ECMO: 2 cases.
From 5:30 p.m. on May 9 to 5:30 p.m. on May 10, the whole country recorded one more death from COVID-19. The total number of deaths from COVID-19 in Vietnam so far is 43,058, accounting for 0.4% of the total number of infections.
