Through the bank, change the photo on the ID card to open a fake account

Mr. Nguyen Van Thu (HCMC) lost his ID card at the end of 2019 and was changed by someone else’s photo on his ID card, used to open an account at VietinBank.

After discovering the incident, he brought identification documents to the branch that opened an account with fake personal information to work, but the branch refused many times.

Through Government Information, Mr. Nguyen Van Thu suggested that the relevant authorities consider and take measures to handle.

Regarding the issue proposed by Mr. Nguyen Van Thu, the State Bank of Vietnam has sent an official dispatch directing VietinBank to review and handle the case.

On April 21, 2022, ViettinBank sent an official dispatch to the State Bank of Vietnam reporting on the results of handling the case.

According to VietinBank’s report, the bank verified customer information and closed the bank account impersonating the customer, and at the same time notified the processing result to customer Nguyen Van Thu.

Currently, Mr. Nguyen Van Thu has no complaints or requests for support towards VietinBank.
