With the desire to go to many places, meet many people to see this life full of good things, Nguyen Minh Quan (Thai Binh) was determined to enter the journalism industry.

However, due to his normal academic ability, after graduating from high school, Quan only got enough points to enter the College of Broadcasting, but not enough points to enter any university that trains journalism.

Quan accepted to attend college in the hope of continuing to nurture his dream of becoming a journalist. However, after entering the school for half a year, Quan discovered that he only liked the highlights of his profession such as being a journalist who could go to many places, not having time to sit in the office, but not knowing that journalists had to work hard, even Even facing the dangers of obtaining information before giving it to readers. That was also when Quan realized he was not suitable for this profession.

“The more I study, the more I realize that my writing and problem-solving skills are very poor. Moreover, the ability to communicate is also very limited and the problem is not clearly presented.

I felt very depressed and pressured when learning this profession, so after listening to my seniors share about accepting to spend 1 year to find my hobby as well as change myself, I decided to temporarily stop studying journalism.

I realized that things related to technology are really my forte. When I put pen to sign the application to reserve the results of studying at the school for 1 year, my parents disagreed, but I have thought carefully, if I study and do a field I do not love, I cannot have passion. “, Quan shared.

Quan decided to take a gap year of experience by applying for a job at a game shop, then re-entering the information technology industry of the Institute of Cryptography. Although his parents said that if he quit school, the newspaper would cut off all aid, but Quan accepted to find a part-time job to pursue his true passion.

Finally, after many difficulties, Quan passed the Institute of Cryptographic Engineering and is currently a 3rd year student. Quan said that he intends to apply for a job at a company specializing in graphic design after graduation to gain experience. and rubbing. Quan’s dream is to open a company specializing in consulting as well as graphic design.

Having also spent a gap year to understand herself, Nguyen Minh Phuong (from Thai Binh province) said that from a young age she dreamed of taking the exam to the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Pedagogy to become a drawing teacher. However, that year Phuong lacked exactly 1 point to be admitted here.

Hearing the encouragement of her parents, Phuong decided to enter the 2nd wish into the Faculty of Accounting, University of Commerce even though it had nothing to do with her interests. In Phuong’s hometown, having a university degree is to a new level, so she has to go to university no matter what.

After studying for nearly a year, Phuong found herself too weak and could not pass many courses. “I dropped out of school and used all my savings to travel to Saigon. By chance, I followed an older sister into a nail salon and found myself really passionate about this profession. I dropped out of school and attended 4 nail courses despite the objections of my parents.

I remember my mother used to cry with swollen eyes saying that I dropped out of college to study a silly trade, because in my hometown, people who paint their nails are considered to be playboys, that and that.

Up to now, I don’t regret what I chose when I have a chain of 3 nail and eyelash shops and my income is also quite good compared to my peers,” Phuong said.
