Canceled dozens of ‘hanging’ real estate projects in Dong Nai

On May 10, the People’s Committee of Vinh Thanh Commune (Nhon Trach District, Dong Nai Province) issued a notice of the People’s Committee of Dong Nai Province about the cancellation of land acquisition to implement the investment project of a Residential Area in Vinh Thanh Commune. This project has been planned since 2008 and by the end of 2010, the Provincial People’s Committee has announced the land acquisition to implement investment in residential areas according to the approved planning.

Vinh Thanh Residential Area Project has an area of ​​​​nearly 120 hectares, invested by Song Da Development Investment Joint Stock Company (HCMC). However, the project took a long time and did not proceed according to the prescribed schedule, so the Provincial People’s Committee decided not to continue to extend the time for the investor to implement the project.

According to the leader of Vinh Thanh commune, this project has lasted for many years and has not been implemented, causing frustration among the people. With the cancellation of the project, local people will be granted land use right certificates and comply with regulations on land use rights. This revoked project is one of 62 real estate projects with a total area of ​​more than 1,000 hectares that have been on the list of land acquisition for many years, but have not been implemented in accordance with the approved regulations. Dong Nai Provincial People’s Council will cancel in 2022.

In the period 2011-2020, in Dong Nai province, there are more than 300 real estate projects, including land plots and houses with an area of ​​​​nearly 9.3 thousand hectares. In which, there are many large projects with an area of ​​​​over 100 hectares. The number of projects completed in the previous period was not much, most of them were moved to the 2021-2030 period for further implementation. The areas that are planned and licensed for many projects are concentrated mainly in the districts of Nhon Trach, Long Thanh, Trang Bom and Bien Hoa city. In which, there are projects that have lasted 8-14 years that have not yet taken shape, directly affecting the lives of households in the project area and the local economy is also difficult to develop.
