In early May, Mercedes-Benz announced new retail prices of many models, most of which increased in price from a few tens to hundreds of millions of dong. In particular, the GLC model alone increases the price from 19 million to 39 million dong depending on the version.
Many users said that ordering from April but receiving the car in May still have to apply the newly announced price. In addition, to receive the car early, in time to enjoy the policy of 50% reduction in registration fees, users have to spend a difference of about 30 million VND.
“In addition to the new price increase higher than April, the sales consultant also said that the car source is scarce, so customers have to spend more money to receive the car in May. If the difference is not accepted, the car can be advertised in June”, a user in Hanoi said.
Meanwhile, the sales consultant said that the price difference to receive the car early is the law of supply and demand. If not in a hurry, users can wait until the following months to receive the car.
The price difference of GLC happened at the time of the sprint of the registration fee reduction policy. With this policy, users can save about 100 million VND, depending on the locality where the number plate is registered. For example, with the new list price of GLC 200 at VND 1,859 billion, users will save more than VND 111 million if registering for the Hanoi Sea and about VND 93 million in other provinces.
In the market, many car models are in the same situation, customers have to spend an extra amount of money to receive the car in May. Meanwhile, some dealers cut promotions compared to when they need to run sales.
