Japan loosens border controls

The Japanese government is planning to double the number of foreigners entering the country to 20,000 per day in June.

The decision to ease epidemic prevention measures was made after considering the isolation infrastructure at the airport and the epidemic situation in the country after the Golden Week holiday ended on May 8.

Japan is considering experimenting with welcoming small-scale tourist groups right this May, proceeding to welcome foreign tourist groups in phases.

Currently Japan allows 10,000 people to enter / day, but is limited to businessmen, interns and students.
