People’s Health India has been seriously affected, especially the risk of epidemics has begun to appear.

The temperature in the capital New Delhi has only decreased for a few days, now it is back to hot alarming. High temperatures hit people living in New Delhi’s slums first. They don’t have running water, and daily water comes from vans after hours of waiting.

Mr. Gopal Solanki, a resident of New Delhi, said: “It was so hot that there was not enough water to supply us. If normally a family uses up 100 liters of water, in the summer it must be up to 200 liters. But the supply is just that, not increasing. Lack of water making people tired and impatient, they even got into fights over the broth“.

In March, India recorded the most extreme heat wave in more than 100 years. In April, many localities, including New Delhi, recorded unusually high temperatures, exceeding 40°C almost every day.

Not only causing a crisis of clean water, hot weather also threatens people’s health. In just the past month, more than 20 people have died from heat stroke in India.

Chandni Singh, a researcher at the IIHS Institute of India, recommends: “Another danger from the heat is that vector-borne diseases (such as malaria or dengue fever) will easily spread from one place to another. Where the disease was not previously recorded, cases will begin to appear, and the number of infected people is expected to increase.“.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has classified 23 out of 28 states, about 100 cities and districts of India as at risk of extreme heat. The NDMA said 19 states have prepared heat response plans, and a number of other states have already implemented these plans.
