Samsung launched a series of screen masterpieces at Display Week 2022-Hi-tech Fashion

At screen week 2022, Samsung surprised the technology world with a series of prototypes with folding and rolling screens.

After three years of stagnation, Display Week 2022 – Screen Week 222 was held, and Samsung was a key player at the event with its foldable OLED display. Besides dual foldable designs like the Flex G or Flex S that were introduced by Samsung at the CES (Consumer Goods Expo) event in January, the company also has a lot to show this time.

The Korean company’s promotional video reveals the brand has both vertical and horizontal sliding screen concepts, offers features that protect the user’s eyes, is halo-free, and delivers surreal deep blacks.

The next generation of Samsung’s flexible, scrollable, or slide-out display prototypes is being watched as one of them is certain to be in production. The proof is that its Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip lines have been successful in recent times.

Here are some impressive displays at Samsung’s show:

● Samsung Flex Bar: horizontal folding screen like in the Galaxy Z Flip series.

● Samsung Flex Square: the screen folds vertically like the Galaxy Z Fold series.

● Samsung Flex G: triple screen with shorter overlapping screens, which can be folded inward or outward.

● Samsung Flex S: a simpler tri-fold structure with three equal parts, which opens up to the widescreen format.

● Samsung Flex Note: foldable laptop.

● Samsung Flex Slide: sliding screen – the ends can be pulled apart to form a larger screen.

● Samsung Flex Roll: a device with a roll-up screen.

Some of these concepts and archetypes have overlap in naming.

Samsung’s screen can be folded and rolled.

New Samsung concepts in the sliding display category include: vertical slide – extends the 6.7-inch screen upwards, allowing more browsing content to be displayed; horizontal slide – the 8.1-inch screen can be extended diagonally to a size of 12.4 inches.
