The pilot had a problem, the passenger was inexperienced in controlling the plane to land

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating the incident that happened on the afternoon of May 10. Initial comment was pilot may have met trouble urgent about health on the plane, follow The Guardian.

According to the tape, the passenger told air traffic controller: “I have a serious situation here. My pilot is unsteady and I don’t know how to fly the plane.”

When asked what happened to the pilot, the passenger said: “He’s unsteady. He’s outside.”

The air traffic controller then asks the passenger for their current location. “I don’t know. I see the beach Florida in front of me and I don’t know,” he replied.

“Try to follow the coast north or south,” said the air traffic controller. “We are trying to locate you”.

After four minutes, the passenger asked: “Have you guys located my location? I can’t even turn on the navigation screen. All the info is on it. You know how?”.

Air traffic control located the plane off the coast of Boca Raton, a city in Florida’s Palm Beach County.

The air traffic controller conducts the landing instructions, saying: “Try to keep the wings of the plane balanced and see if you can start descending, push the joystick forward and descend with very slow speed”.

According to the video obtained by CNN, the plane can be seen landing slowly and smoothly.

In another recording, another air traffic controller can be heard saying to the pilots: “You just witnessed two passengers land that plane.”

“You said the passenger controlled the plane to land?” an American Airlines pilot asked. “Oh my god. It’s amazing”.
