Volkswagen T-Cross – CUV size B costs more than 1 billion

After many delays due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, the distributor Volkswagen (VW) in Vietnam introduced the T-Cross, the smallest CUV in its product range for the domestic market, on May 10 at a commercial center in Ho Chi Minh City. Volkswagen T-Cross sells two versions: Elegance priced at 1,099 billion VND and Luxury priced at 1,299 billion VND. VW’s positioning of the near-premium brand puts the price of T-Cross into the most expensive in the segment, surpassing popular rivals such as Hyundai Creta (620-730 million), Honda HR-V (786-866 million). or Peugeot 2008 (769-849 million), another European brand B-size car. Even C-sized CUV models like Mazda CX-5 (839-1,059 million), Honda CR-V (998-1,138 million).

The two versions of the VW T-Cross are similar in design, the difference in price comes from the difference in the accompanying equipment.

T-Cross is young right from the appearance when the chrome panels are present a lot on the body. The front part looks like a miniature Tiguan, while the rear has a trendy horizontal LED rear light.

The 188 mm ground clearance of the T-Cross is the largest in the segment. 16-inch rims on the Elegance version and 17-inch on the Luxury version. LED headlights are only available on the T-Cross Luxury version, while halogen bulbs are fitted to the lower version.

The T-Cross cockpit is as familiar as the one on the Tiguan senior or the new Teramont sold in Vietnam. The car has a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment screen, wireless connectivity, and phone charging is similar. The Luxury version has more advanced amenities such as a digital clock, sunroof, two-tone leather seats. While the regular version only has a mechanical watch, the leather seats are black.

The car has standard equipment such as automatic air conditioning, touch control with air filter function, multi-function steering wheel. The leather seats have air vents for better cooling.

The two versions of Volkswagen T-Cross both use the same 1-liter direct-injection turbocharged engine, with a capacity of 115 horsepower and maximum torque of 178 Nm. 6-speed automatic transmission, front-wheel drive. The vehicle has an electronic differential lock system, which helps to handle situations where the one-wheel drive wheel slips.

T-Cross owns safety equipment such as: ABS, emergency brake assist, electronic balance, traction control, steering return assist, hill start assist, cruise control.

With a price tag of more than one billion dong, T-Cross has established its own segment, but it is also difficult for the majority of customers. The car as an additional option for customers who want to experience German quality, the sales task is therefore difficult to ask for.
