Australian voters early voting record high
According to the Australian Election Commission, more than 300,000 people went vote at polling stations across the country on May 9. This is almost triple the number of voters on the first day of early voting in the 2019 election.
Voter support for the Labor Party rose to 39 per cent, while support for the ruling Liberal-National coalition fell to 35 per cent, according to the latest poll by national daily The Australian.
This is the largest gap between the Labor Party and the coalition since the two sides started their election campaigns in early April.
The official election will take place on May 21. 17 million voters out of an estimated 26 million Australians have registered to vote.
