Find the winner of the Business Case Competition 2022

At the national final round of Business Case Competition In 2022, organized by HSBC Vietnam in collaboration with the VietSeeds Scholarship Fund, the team from RMIT University excellently overcame the remaining 3 competitors to win the championship, and at the same time, became the representative of Vietnam. participated in the international round of the HSBC Business Case Competition in the Asia-Pacific region.

4 competing teams from National Economics University, Foreign Trade University – Campus 2 in Ho Chi Minh City, Academy of Finance and RMIT University were assigned a real business case, created by China. The prestigious Asian Case Studies Center (ACRC) under the Faculty of Business and Economics, University of Hong Kong (HKU). Teams have six hours of research and collaboration to come up with a solution, as well as a strategic implementation plan, before entering a presentation and counter-argument with the judges.

At the end of the final round, the representative of the champion team from RMIT University shared: “My whole team is really happy and proud of ourselves to have become the champion of the competition, me and my team members. prepared many months ago for this contest and feel that all the effort has paid off.We would also like to extend our sincerest thanks to the contest organizers, our instructors. The HSBC Business Case Competition 2022 attracted the participation of 16 teams from universities in many provinces such as Hanoi, Thua Thien – Hue, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City. All rounds are held 100% online on the Zoom Meetings platform.

The participating teams went through 2 rounds of analysis and business case presentation to find the top 4 teams entering the final round. The winning team was awarded a cash prize of VND 50,000,000 and had the opportunity to represent Vietnam in the HSBC Business Case Competition in the Asia-Pacific region. 1st runner up and 2 2nd runner up prizes respectively received cash prizes worth VND 30,000,000 and VND 20,000,000 respectively. In addition, all 16 teams from the first round received an English lesson within a year from ELSA SPEAK.

Along with that, all competition teams can participate in training sessions on English presentation skills, teamwork skills, problem solving skills…

Born in 2008 in Hong Kong (China), the Asia-Pacific Business Case Competition applies business case study methods, which have been used in all training professions, from engineering to the social sciences. Up to now, the contest has been contributing to bring the academic world closer to business practice through real business cases.

In Vietnam, the contest was held for the first time in 2014 and has continuously increased both the number and quality of contestants; recognized many excellent achievements of the competition teams from the universities in the country.
