Found a girlfriend for being rude at the airport

AmericaWhen they first met, Gabriel Solberg made Krystina Burton, who would later become his fiancée, roll her eyes in exasperation.

In the summer of 2018, 30-year-old Krystina Burton was waiting at JFK airport to return from New York to Los Angeles early in the morning. The station was empty and she found an empty row of seats to sit comfortably. She was enjoying herself when suddenly Gabriel Solberg slammed his bag on the floor and sat next to her. Burton was furious that his private space was tight. Solberg, then 34 years old, had just finished a family vacation from Europe to New York. His eyes were glazed over from lack of sleep after the night flight, and he didn’t pay attention to his surroundings.

The two were seated so close together that Burton could see the seat number printed on Solberg’s plane ticket. Unexpectedly, they sat next to each other on the plane and this made Burton even more depressed. She didn’t sleep during the six-hour flight, and had to sit next to a guy who had no concept of respect for personal space.

But Solberg then thought completely differently from Burton. “That’s just her point of view. But that day, when I arrived at the airport, the station was packed with people. I just wanted to find an empty seat and sit down. And I only sat for five minutes,” he said. .

Meeting on the plane, Burton intended to wear headphones to avoid having to talk to him. But Solberg didn’t let her do it because he was “mindless” by her smile. So Solberg decided to get to know her.

“Hey, did you just sit next to me at the airport?”, Solberg began. “You sit next to me,” Burton replied with a smile. Burton’s first impression of Solberg as rude and arrogant quickly dissipated. They have moments of comfortable conversation with each other.

As the story unfolds, they discuss their work, where they live, their reasons for traveling… The two realize they share the same love for travel. Solberg has two French-American bloodlines, grew up in Germany. So he moves around a lot. And her job as a dancer also took Burton around the world touring.

When the plane took off, the two felt like they had known each other for a long time. During the flight, they still chat from time to time. Burton chose a movie he thought was good for both of them to watch, but Solberg bluntly said it was the dumbest movie he knew. Instead of being annoyed like at the airport, Burton gradually felt captivated by the straightforwardness and humor of the person sitting next to him.

The plane landed is also when Solberg and Burton became closer. That surprised passengers in the window seats. “When we boarded the plane, no one knew each other. And after just one night of sleep, he woke up and saw that we had known each other for a long time,” Solberg recalls.

Back home, Solberg and Burton called each other regularly, and flew across the country to meet. On their first date, Burton suggested going out to dinner and watching a movie. Solberg came up with the idea of renting a cabin in the mountains of Santa Monica, California so the two could travel together. Burton is excited about that plan, and her friends and family are worried because her daughter is venturing into a deserted place with a man she just met. A friend even gave Burton a self-defense item, so that she could fight back if Solberg had bad intentions.

Although the cabin was more sketchy than Burton thought, the two had a good time together, driving along the beach, eating and chatting. The vacation comes to an end, Solberg has to return to New York, both feel sad. In the end, Burton decided to fly to New York with Solberg, and they went on another adventure. A year later, the two became engaged during a trip to Italy.

Solberg and Burton think they’ve been able to open up and talk non-stop since they’ve known each other because they’re both true to themselves, not trying to become a role model.
