To go labor export to improve the economy

From the beginning of March until now, flights to bring workers to work in Japan, Taiwan (China), and South Korea have resumed. This is considered a very positive thing and good news for hundreds of thousands of employees after more than 2 long years of waiting.

Those who have registered but have not yet gone have been gradually settled by companies. At the same time, companies also started hiring new people in all industries. Each person working abroad has different specific purposes, but in general, it is to improve the family economy.

According to the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, the reception of Vietnamese workers in three major markets, Japan, Korea and Taiwan (China) has returned to normal. Department of Foreign Labor Administration is also gradually expanding to new and potential markets such as Europe, Australia, Germany…

Many workers have been exported.

The number of people going to work abroad is also increasing with diverse ages and occupations. For example, the construction industry employs workers over 30 years old, and agriculture nearly 40 years old. This is a favorable condition for employees to have the opportunity to work for a long time.

Efforts to maintain labor markets even during the epidemic situation have greatly contributed to the creation of jobs and sustainable poverty reduction in many localities.

Mr. Long Van Dai comes from the most remote area of Pac Nam district, Bac Kan province. This ethnic boy plans to work abroad for nearly a year to have money to build a house for his parents. The ground has been leveled, the materials have been prepared… Dai’s mother and daughter intend that after 8 months of seasonal work in the agricultural field in Japan, they can accumulate some money to build a more spacious house. If the capital is planned, it will be used to buy more livestock and expand the barn.

“I intend to go to Japan to hope to have more income to repair my house, and if I have excess, I want to take cattle to raise,” Dai said.

Bac Kan is a province with divided mountainous terrain, fragmented land, high percentage of population engaged in agriculture but low income. In recent years, vocational training associated with labor export has been paid attention to by the province. As a result, thousands of rural workers have the opportunity to move villages, change jobs and escape poverty sustainably.

Having a wife and 3 children, but Mr. Trieu Van Dan (Pac Nam district, Bac Kan) accepts to leave his family to work abroad while the money to build the house is still in debt. With Lead, in addition to earning money to pay debts, going to work abroad is also a way to improve the family economy.

With the increasing demand from foreign partners, labor export companies also promote the search for suitable labor sources. This also creates great opportunities for rural and mountainous workers who are underemployed, helping them to transform their employment structure and improve their family economy.

“Short-term jobs do not require too high professional skills, so workers can respond immediately, from which they will have a certain source of capital and labor skills to do the next job,” said Dong Van Luu. – Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Bac Kan province said.

Many spacious houses are springing up in poor rural areas as a result of the working days of foreign workers. Previously, labor export was only available to people in favorable areas, but now it appears more in mountainous areas, disadvantaged areas, and ethnic minority areas.

Financial support for employees

Currently, creating financial resources for people going to work abroad is no longer a big problem. In difficult communes, workers get loans from banks with low interest rates. Many companies even lend their employees interest-free loans within 1 year to go to work.

Areas with special difficulties are entitled to borrow capital from the Bank for Social Policies with a term not exceeding the term of employees working abroad. Lending interest rate equal to the lending rate for poor households is 6.6%/year and maximum loan is 100 million VND.

As for those who cannot borrow capital from the Bank for Social Policies, some companies will lend these workers an amount of 3,600 USD (more than 80 million VND). This amount is paid by the employee and his/her family in 12 months.

The loan amount on the company also has its own calculations. However, it does not affect the benefits that employees are entitled to.

Currently, workers have many job options both at home and abroad, so recruiting people to work abroad is not easy. Supporting loans for workers will create competitiveness for enterprises doing business in the field of labor export.

Going to work abroad to improve skills

The sending of workers to work abroad, is not only to earn money, increase family income, but also to equip better knowledge, working skills, discipline at work so that when they become to continue to contribute to the country.

Skilled laborers are more difficult to recruit, but work better, meeting the needs of partners. Currently, many foreign partners not only require graduating from grade 12 as before, but also require workers who have been trained at vocational schools. These workers are entitled to half the exit fee compared to unskilled workers.

Skilled workers when returning will bring the knowledge they have learned to use in factories in Vietnam.

Recruitment companies are recruiting workers in all industries to supply the export market. For skilled workers, the working time usually lasts 5 years instead of 3 years like unskilled workers, the quantity is also higher.
