Not enrolling 10th graders Integrated at 4 high schools in Ho Chi Minh City

On May 11, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City issued a written notice on the refusal to enroll students in the 10th grade Integrated in some high schools in the 2022-2023 school year.

Accordingly, 4 high schools in the area including: Vo Thi Sau High School, Tran Hung Dao High School, Thu Duc High School and Nguyen Huu Cau High School will not enrollment in class 10 Integration in the academic year 2022-2023.

The reason for not enrolling in Grade 10 Integration at these schools is that by 5:00 p.m. on May 9, 2022, the number of candidates who registered for integration aspirations of these 4 schools was not enough to open classes according to Decision No. of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City on promulgating a plan to mobilize children to go to class and enroll students in the first grades of the school year 2022-2023.

Specifically, Thu Duc High School has only 2 students, Tran Hung Dao (Go Vap) has 3 students, Nguyen Huu Cau (Hoc Mon) has 8 students and Vo Thi Sau (Binh Thanh) has 19 students registered in wish 1.

With this small number of registrations, the representative of the Department of Education and Training said that there are not enough quotas to open classes according to the regulations of the City People’s Committee. Ho Chi Minh City to enroll first grade students, ie at least 25 students/class. Therefore, these 4 schools will not enroll 10th grade integrated students next school year.

Those who have registered will be advised to register to another school that offers integrated classes or to register for three other common public 10th grade enrollment aspirations.

Previously, on April 15, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training announced the enrollment of students in the 10th Integrated Class for the 2022-2023 school year, including enrollment at four schools, namely Vo Thi Sau High School and High School. Tran Hung Dao, Thu Duc High School and Nguyen Huu Cau High School with the total enrollment of the 4 schools is 175.
