At the hotel where the delegation stayed, representatives of the Vietnamese community in the US and officials and employees of the Vietnamese Embassy in the US welcomed the Prime Minister and members of the delegation.

The representative of the Vietnamese community in the US expressed his pleasure to welcome Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on his first working trip to the US since taking office, believing that the visit will achieve many good results, contributing to promoting the country’s economy. ASEAN – US relations, Vietnam – US relations and Vietnam – United Nations relations are increasingly developing, contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and in the world.

During his business trip, the Prime Minister will attend activities within the framework of the ASEAN-US Special Summit. The Prime Minister will join the leaders of ASEAN countries to attend a banquet hosted by the US President on the evening of May 12 at the White House; attend the meeting of the ASEAN-US Special Summit on the afternoon of May 13.

At the same time, within the framework of the Special Summit, it is expected that the leaders of ASEAN countries will have lunch and work with the Vice President of the United States on May 13; attending lunch and working with representatives of the US Congress on May 12; meeting with US cabinet ministers and leaders of large US corporations and businesses.

The Prime Minister will have bilateral meetings with US leaders, leaders of some ASEAN countries, and meet and work with leaders of the United Nations and a number of international organizations.

The Prime Minister will also have meetings with the Vietnamese community living, working and studying in the US.

Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Nguyen Quoc Dung emphasized that this visit of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is very important, including activities both multilaterally and bilaterally. This “two-in-one” trip of the Prime Minister aims to implement the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation and development, multilateralization, diversification, and deep international integration. of Vietnam.
