The commander of Ukraine in Mariupol asked for help from billionaire Elon Musk

The war in Ukraine entered its third month, and the city of Mariupol passed into Russian control, except for the Azovstal metallurgical plant. The remaining Ukrainian soldiers defending Mariupol retreated to the basements of this factory for shelter. Many of them were wounded, but did not surrender at Russia’s call.

Earlier this week, Kyiv said more than 1,000 soldiers, many of them wounded, were still trapped inside Factory Azovstal.

Women, children, the elderly were evacuated from this place, thanks to a rescue effort by the United Nations coordinated with the International Red Cross.
