Five of the eight eSports at SEA Games 31 will be played live on Apple and Asus phones, the rest on PCs.

On May 13, eSports at the 31st SEA Games will officially kick off at the National Convention Center (Hanoi).
On the first day, the teams in the region will compete in the subject Free Fire. The equipment provided by the organizers is ROG Phone 5s – Asus’ latest gaming phone. However, according to regulations, players will not be able to use the Air-trigger feature (virtual key on the edge of the device) because the organizers want to ensure fairness when playing professionally, limiting the support feature to only on a device line.
Asus Vietnam said that the equipment used in the competition is not different from the ones sold on the market. The selected model has the highest configuration with 16 GB RAM, pre-enabled eSport mode. Depending on the actual situation, players may be allowed to use an additional removable cooling fan.
Meanwhile, with the subject PUBG Mobilestarting May 18, the device used will be iPhone 13″ series. This is also one of the few subjects that require high configuration machines to operate stably during competition.
With other eSports including League of Legends: Wild Rift, Lien Quan Mobile and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, competition equipment will be provided by the Organizing Committee or by the athletes themselves. It is expected that iPhone is the phone used in four out of five e-sports at SEA Games 31, only Free Fire using ROG Phone 5s.
According to the regulations of the 31st SEA Games Organizing Committee, the device must not integrate automatic programs or third-party software intervention. The technical referee team has the right to refuse the personal equipment prepared by the player if it does not meet the standard requirements.
Regarding the Internet connection, the Organizing Committee uses two separate lines with a minimum speed of 200 Mbps for each content. Smartphones use a Wi-Fi connection to dedicated transmitters installed near the players’ seating positions. The competition venue is connected to its own network to minimize risks.
At the 31st SEA Games, eSports e-sports competition will take place from May 13 to May 22 with eight games and 10 medal content.
