Fixes Messenger and Facebook still “lights up” even when not online

When using Facebook and Messenger, your profile picture will be accompanied by a small green dot, called “activity”. This shows you are using Facebook.

Sign in on multiple devices

Therefore, you need to log out or turn off the internet connection on devices you don’t need.

Step 1: Open the Facebook application and log in to your account, select the Three dashes icon in the top Menu bar, select Settings and privacy and then select Settings.

Step 2: After entering Settings, select Password and security. In the Where you are logged in, click See all to check.

Step 3: If you detect any other device than your device or the account is logged in in a suspicious location, select the three vertical dots on the right corner, select Sign out to get out of this suspicious device. At the same time, users must change their new password and take security measures to protect their Facebook account.

Haven’t turned off the internet completely

One reason your account is still “lights up” may be because you haven’t turned off your online status completely.

How to disable active status with Messenger app

Step 1: You open the Messenger application on your phone > click on your profile picture in the upper left corner of the screen > select Active status.

Step 2: Here, turn off the Show when you are active, press Off again to confirm.

How to turn off active status with Facebook app

Step 1: Open the Facebook application, select the Three dashes icon in the Menu bar > select Settings & Privacy > Settings > Privacy management.

Step 2: Here, click on the Activity status option > Turn off the option Show when you’re active, tap Turn off again to confirm.
