On May 13, Tra Vinh province’s police investigation agency prosecuted and arrested three suspects, including: Le Thi My Hong (49 years old), former head of Tra Vinh City’s Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs; Le Thi Thanh Loan (44 years old), Tran Van Qui (38 years old), both former deputy head of the department, to investigate the act of “Embezzlement of property”.

In addition, four other defendants who were former employees of the Tra Vinh City Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs were also prosecuted for the above behavior but were released on bail.

According to the initial investigation results, in 2018 and 2019, Ms. Hong, as the department head, directed the defendants Qui, Loan and their subordinates to falsify many documents to settle funding sources from the state budget. country with the amount of more than 600 million.

During the investigation, the police agency proved that the defendants used more than 106 million VND and divided equally over 15 million VND each. As for the remaining amount of more than 500 million VND, the investigation agency is continuing to verify and clarify.
