However, as the number of daily new cases is decreasing and the situation in hospitals is improving, we think it is inappropriate to maintain the regulation of wearing masks on public transport.” .

Minister Olivier Véran recommended that people continue to wear masks to protect themselves. In addition, the regulations to wear masks and check medical passports are still mandatory when people go to places such as nursing homes or medical facilities (hospitals, pharmacies or private clinics). .

Mr. Olivier Veran also said that the French government may deploy an additional booster shot of the vaccine next autumn in the event of a virus variant or a new wave of disease.

In a related development, the European Aviation Security Agency (EASA) on May 11 issued a notice to abolish the regulation of wearing masks on European domestic flights from the beginning of next week.
