The strange find posted on the Reddit page seems to indicate a structure similar to rocket located on an exotic site in Qiemo County, Xinjiang.

Extensive observation reveals several similar sites around which are located next to industrial buildings near the center of desert The vast Taklamakan.
Spanning 337,000 square kilometers, the Taklamakan is the world’s second largest shifting sand desert with dunes up to 18 meters high.

Share snapshots and coordinates of rocket-like structures, users Google Maps question: “Is this a rocket?” and many people support this hypothesis.
One person shared an article published in China Power about China’s missile force, which indicated that China has at least one Missile brigade in the desert.
However, not everyone believes that this construction is really a secret military facility in the middle of the Chinese desert.
“I don’t think it’s a rocket. There’s no way big enough to get in and out of the ‘launch pad,'” one person commented.
Another suggested that the site is an oil and gas facility as some of the structures look like oil/gas wells.
One account said the site was the exact “refinery” near the town of Tazhong.
According to CGTN, Petro China’s Tarim Petroleum Company was the first to discover oil and water in the heart of the Taklamakan Desert.
The company has launched several energy projects here and now more than 300 Tarim workers live in an “artificial oasis” in the Taklamakan desert to exploit oil and gas.
“The facilities are equipped with facilities such as gyms, stadiums and karaoke theaters to help workers dispel the sadness of living here,” according to CGTN.
