Hyundai car sales decline due to lack of production components

In April 2022, a number of Hyundai’s popular models were due to insufficient supply, leading to a decrease in sales.

TC Group (Thanh Cong Group) announces Hyundai sales results in April 2022. Although summarizing the first 4 months of 2022, Hyundai car sales grew by 14.3% over the same period in 2021, but in April 2022, sales decreased compared to March 2022.

Hyundai Creta has strong sales growth in April 2022

In particular, Hyundai Accent continues to be the best-selling model of the Korean brand with 1,900 vehicles delivered in April 2022. However, compared to March, sales decreased by 6.5%. A series of models such as Kona, Elantra, Tucson and SantaFe also recorded a decrease in sales.

Notably, Hyundai Creta and Grand i10 are the two bright spots of TC Group’s April sales.

In the first full month of sales, the Creta B-class SUV thanks to stable supply recorded outstanding growth with 1,054 units sold, 1,000 more than the previous month. The growth rate recorded nearly 20 times. Hyundai Grand i10 is behind with 1,227 vehicles, up 10.3% compared to the previous month.

From the beginning of 2022, Hyundai Accent is still TC Group’s best-selling model

According to TC Group, the business results of growth in the first 4 months of the year were due to the stability of the socio-economic situation when the Covid-19 epidemic was stabilized and under control.

However, the global semiconductor crisis and shortage of high-tech chips and components continue to affect the ability to supply some Hyundai-branded products in Vietnam. Models like SantaFe, Tucson still cannot meet the increasing customer demand.
