Malaysia grants injectable drug Evusheld to fight COVID-19 infection

Evusheld injection is made up of two long-acting monoclonal antibodies manufactured by Astrazeneca AB of Sweden.

The drug is intended for use by adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over, weighing at least 40 kg, the Malaysian Ministry of Health said. It is also for individuals who have not had an adequate immune response to the COVID-19 vaccine, or for whom the COVID-19 vaccine is not recommended.

The use of the injection must be based on the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and the product must not be used as a substitute for COVID-19 vaccination, the Malaysian health official stated.
