The whole country has 1,001,011 candidates registered for the high school graduation exam, about 14,000 less than last year.
At 5:00 p.m. on May 13, the Exam Management System of the Ministry of Education and Training opened the “Exam Registration” function course after 10 days. According to statistics of the Ministry of Education and Training, there are more than 942,200 12th grade students registered online through this system and nearly 58,800 candidates are free to register directly according to regulations.
Of more than one million candidates registered for the exam, more than 859,500 students will use their results to both graduate and university admission (accounting for 85.87%). The number of candidates only taking the exam to consider high school graduation is nearly 103,400 (10.33%). The number of only university admission and admission to pedagogical colleges is more than 33,100 (accounting for 3.81%).
Like last year, the number of candidates choosing the combination of Social Sciences is much higher with 555,800 students (accounting for 55.83%). The number of natural science subjects was nearly 319,700 (accounting for 31.94%). This is also a trend predicted by many high schools in recent years.

2022 is the first year that the Ministry of Education and Training applies online registration instead of directly by ballot, and students do not have to register for university admission like every year. High School Graduation Exam 2022 will take place on July 7-8. The exams are kept the same as in recent years with three independent tests of Mathematics, Literature, and Foreign Languages and two combined lessons of Natural Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and Social Science (Calendar) History, Geography, and Citizenship for candidates in a general education program; or History and Geography for candidates in a continuing education program).
The content of the exam is in the high school curriculum, mainly in grade 12. In terms of form, except for the Literature exam, the exam questions for other subjects are in the form of objective multiple-choice tests. On March 31, the Ministry of Education and Training announced References of the exam subjects so that schools and students have a review orientation.
