Recently, a tourist from the suburb of Henderson was rowing on the lake when he discovered another human remains. The person who discovered it was Lindsey Melvin, she said at first she thought it was the skeleton of a large sheep, but when she looked closer she saw human teeth.

Lindsey Melvin called to notify staff at the national park service center.

Area police officer Ray Spencer said: “The lake is drying up due to the drought. There is a possibility that we will find more bodies in the lake.”

The Clark County medical examiner is assisting in determining the cause of death. Lake Mead provides water to more than 40 million people across seven states and to northern Mexico.

In August 2020, the water in Lake Mead was only about 35% of its capacity. On May 9, 2022, the water level in Lake Mead was about 49 meters lower than it was in 2000, the lowest level recorded since the 1930s.
