I told the director that after playing this role, I must wear a helmet when I go out (laughs). Director Bui Tien Huy encourages peace of mind and thinks that my return must have a little mark.”

However, in contrast to the discomfort and cunning in the movie, Thu Ha in real life is a woman who is wholeheartedly devoted to her family and has a smile that makes anyone feel sympathy at first sight. During her acting career, she devoted all her passion to theater and drama, she usually only received one project per year to have time to take care of her small family.

Always mesmerized by the spotlight

Truong Thu Ha was born into a family of civil servants living in Hanoi, no one in the family followed the arts, but from a young age, she showed her acting talents in school art activities. The beauty born in 1980 graduated from the Faculty of Acting – University of Theater and Cinema, class 11.

After graduating from school, she worked at the Vietnam Drama Theater. With good acting ability and a bright stage face, Thu Ha is constantly featured in many large-scale plays of the theater such as: Cuoi Buon Quan (Director Le Hung), White Night (directed by Doan Hoang Giang), Lonely Encirclement (directed by Pham Thi Thanh)…

Thu Ha is also a favorite face of drama directors. In her career, Thu Ha has regretted twice when she turned down two films that achieved great success. First, director Dang Nhat Minh invited her to play the main role in the movie Guava season. Because at that time, she was taking the 2nd year university entrance exam, and she was playing the main role in the class final report play, so Thu Ha did not dare to take a break. In the end, she turned down director Dang Nhat Minh. To this day, it remains her most regrettable decision.

When invited in Stork Dance, Thu Ha also refused for fear of taking too much time for a small role. She confided: “Perhaps, the biggest price I have to pay for my shyness, lack of determination, is my reputation is still not much…”

However, Thu Ha affirmed that her biggest passion is the stage:“Having acted in many dramas, many people may say that I have not found a place, or have not yet reached the luxury position of cinema.

Really, my biggest passion is for the stage. Learning about the stage, graduating from school to do the stage, the limelight fascinated me. Until now, I still dream of having a multi-personality role, a big role with the stage. Even though the stage is weakening, even though the stage is empty of spectators, my desire for the stage is still burning, and I still dream of one day “exploding” with the stage.

The actress kept her private life secret

Thu Ha has been married to someone outside the entertainment industry since 2006, having a happy and peaceful married life for 16 years. The couple have twin boys together. Occasionally, Thu Ha only shares a few pictures of her small family on social networks, the rest she is quite secretive.

The actress confided that she rarely shared photos of her husband and children because she did not want her family to be dissected online. As a celebrity, she has to face public opinion, but her relatives are normal people, if there is praise or criticism, it will easily affect the psyche.

Thu Ha revealed that when she first fell in love, half of them were jealous when she acted in love scenes, but after getting married and going to the studio a lot, her husband was able to understand and sympathize. She excitedly recounts:

“Before, when we were still in love, he was also jealous. Seeing me do scenes of hugging and kissing other people, he was very jealous. Stressful at times. You keep asking, do they really kiss? Do they really hug each other? I explained it carefully to him, just holding hands like that, just bowing like that, not kissing! Gradually he also understood his personality. After getting married, he understands and sympathizes with his wife’s work more, very hard to take her to the film crew.”

Thu Ha said it was difficult to balance both acting, theater and family work. So, if she had to choose, she would prioritize taking care of her family.
