Police extracted a series of cameras, identified the suspect of stealing 32 manhole covers on Thu Thiem 2 bridge – the symbol of Ho Chi Minh City, searching for a week.
On May 13, District 1 Police coordinated with the Criminal Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police to arrest the suspect of stealing a series of manhole covers on Thu Thiem 2 bridge. Information about this person’s identity has not been provided, but the police let him know. that he admitted the act.

Previously, on the afternoon of May 5, workers discovered 32 drain covers on Thu Thiem 2 bridge were missing. These devices are made of cast iron, 23 cm in diameter, 2.3 cm thick, located close to the pedestrian corridor. There is a crowbar pry around the drain.
A representative of Thu Thiem 2 bridge construction unit said that the whole project has nearly 110 manhole covers. The manhole covers were lost on May 3 and 4.
Extracting security cameras around the area, the police identified the culprit as a bold middle-aged man, wearing a blue shirt, black pants and driving a red motorbike.

Thu Thiem 2 is a cable-stayed bridge spanning the Saigon River nearly 1.5 km long, 6 lanes, connecting District 1 with Thu Duc City. inaugurate April 28th. The bridge has a total investment of 3,100 billion VND, is considered a new symbol of Ho Chi Minh City.
