Will Apple integrate USB-C from the iPhone 15 version?

Since its debut on the iPhone 5 in 2012, the Lightning connector has been one of Apple’s greatest innovations. However, 2 years later, a better alternative technology in many aspects appeared on the market, which is the connection port. USB-COL.

With more advantages and convenience than predecessor technology, USB-C is equipped with many phone manufacturers and other components in the mobile industry for new products.

While most new Android smartphones have switched to USB-C ports, Apple is still “stubborn” not to put this port on the iPhone. However, this is likely to change in the near future.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo shared his latest survey results on Twitter. Accordingly, Apple is likely to replace the Lightning port with USB-C from the iPhone 15, or in other words, from 2023.

According to Ming-Chi Kuo, USB-C will help improve charging and data transfer speeds for new iPhone models, however, final technical details will depend on iOS.

It’s unclear if the change will apply to all iPhone 15 models. It is known that one of the most influential factors for Apple to make this decision is due to increasing pressure from EU authorities.

The European Senate has long discussed the common charging standard for mobile device manufacturers in the EU. Members of the Senate voted to approve a new rule in April that would force smartphones and other electronic devices to use USB-C ports to reduce e-waste.

Apple itself has not completely rejected USB-C. As proof, the company has included USB-C ports for recently launched iPad models and uses USB-C-compatible Thunderbolt ports on many Macs.
