Women are better at planning outings than men

Not only do more research on the trip, women also make better decisions than men.

A recent study by Skyscanner found that 75% of women do serious research when it comes to planning family vacations. And 95% of the respondents were satisfied with the plan that the woman in the family came up with during the trip.

Some other studies also show that women often spend more time looking for a good vacation. Stubborn Mule’s Liddy Pleasants travel agency said in the newspaper Telegraph UK: “They (women) will read every review, spend a lot of time on every hotel website, read advice blogs to check if anything is wrong.”

Also, women will ask a lot of questions, really go into the details, and check to make sure they have everything they asked for correctly. The only minus point is that because women research too closely, the time to “close the application” will be long. In contrast, men are often more assertive in booking vacations. Most of them are impulsive and do less research when planning family vacations, experts point out. So the time they spend planning is faster.

The director of Perform & Grow, a psychological consulting firm, Sally Evans, agrees. Evans says women are more analytical before making decisions, while men “tend to put things on a hunch”.

Besides, women also tend to pack things, buy travel insurance, ask neighbors to take care of the house… before going on vacation more carefully than men. Meanwhile, men often prefer to park their cars at the airport and exchange foreign currency when they are abroad, instead of preparing everything from home.
