4 tourists were swept away by waves while swimming in Mui Ne

Binh ThuanFour Hanoi tourists were swept away by water while bathing at Da Ong Dia beach (Phan Thiet city), two people died, on the afternoon of May 13.

At 16:00, a group of three men and one woman (30-36 years old) went down to bathe at the beach opposite Sealink City villas. About 20 minutes, all four were pulled away by the current, asking for help. People and beach guards swam to save two people. The other two people, Pham Hong Hai (30 years old) and Ngo Ngoc Quang (31 years old), are missing.

After 2 hours of searching, the rescue force found two bodies nearly 50 meters from the crash site. Local authorities are waiting for the families of two victims from Hanoi to Binh Thuan to receive and take them home for burial.

This group of tourists works at a legal agency in Cau Giay district (Hanoi), arrived in Mui Ne on May 12, and is expected to return on May 15. This morning they visited the scenic Bau Trang (Bac Binh district), then returned to the hotel for lunch.

In the afternoon, the group visited the ruins of Duc Thanh school and Po Sah Inu Cham tower (Phan Thiet city), on the way back to the hotel, visited the beach, and encountered an accident.

Da Ong Dia beach is the place where many cases happened drowning due to have line rip dangerous underground flow, although the waves are not as large as today. Local tourism has a warning board in this area.
