Aguero statue is criticized for… like Kroos
Ten years after his iconic last-minute goal against QPR helped Man City win their first Premier League title, Sergio Aguero has been honored with a statue by the Manchester blue team.

On Friday (May 13), Aguero was at the Etihad to take pictures with his statue. But when the image went viral, fans noticed that the statue looked more like Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos than Aguero.

“It’s weird that they asked Aguero to open the statue of Toni Kroos,” quipped one fan.

“Does this statue look more like Kroos than Aguero?” another fan wrote.

“Have you seen the statue of Toni Kroos at the Etihad Stadium? Sergio Aguero must be very jealous of Kroos after all he has done for Man City,” another fan joked.
Aguero scored 260 goals in 390 appearances for City between 2011 and 2021, establishing himself as one of the finest strikers of the Premier League era. He played a big role in helping Man City become a major force in the English Premier League and European football as it is today.

“There is no player at Man City who deserves a statue more than Aguero but it doesn’t even look like him,” one fan wrote.

Even Kroos spoke up about the statue. He re-shared the post of journalist Simon Stone with the question: “Are you sure this is Aguero?”.
