Michael Kors towards sportiness in a new collection with Italian fashion house-Fashion Trends
Michael Kors has surprised us with a new bag in collaboration with Italian sportswear brand Ellesse.
The unexpected partnership marks one of Michael Kors’ biggest brand initiatives this year to date. The collaboration is led by writer and model Emily Ratajkowski along with Brooklyn-based rapper Jay Critch and Queens-born musician Wolftyla. Other faces include Japanese star Kemio and models Herzen Clerge, Lexi Boling and Lucas Ucedo.
The collection was shot by Lachlan Bailey and styled by Mel Ottenberg, Creative Director of Interview Magazine. Taken on a tennis court in Miami, the images take you to a stress-free place of relaxation, radiating from the images’ warm colors. The campaign video features matching old tennis rackets and camera filters, adding to the vintage feel.
The collection’s 24 products follow a playful ’70s color story, with Ellesse’s recognizable colors bright orange and fiery red. These shades, along with Michael Kors’ natural sharp and deep navy blue, create a retro color scheme. Playful prints and vintage swimwear, jackets, trousers, sneakers, sandals and bucket hats all have a sporty edge. All designs aim for an active yet stylish summer.
As Michael Kors has started to introduce sportier collections to go with the hot summer weather, like his new children’s line, the brand has kept its signature colors. However, with a new logo for this ready-to-wear collection, the Ellesse collaboration presents a new source of inspiration: vibrant and energetic.
