Revealed smartphones for eSports competition at SEA Games 31

After opening (May 12), the eSports competitions of SEA Games 31 entered the first competitions on May 13, 2022 at the National Convention Center (Hanoi). According to the Organizing Committee, out of 8 sports, there will be 5 using mobile phones and 3 on PC.

Specifically, on May 13, teams from countries in the region will compete in Free Fire. Accordingly, the Organizing Committee has announced that Asus’ ROG Phone 5s model will be the model for this e-sport.

It is known that ROG Phone 5s is the latest gaming machine from Asus. This model has a high-end configuration thanks to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus 5G processor, 16GB of RAM, and an optimized GameCool 5 cooling system with AeroActive Cooler 5 and the performance manager in Armory Crate. As a result, ROG Phone 5s ensures maximum performance during long and continuous use to ensure competitive athletes.

ROG Phone 5s is also equipped with a 144Hz/1ms AMOLED screen that meets HDR10+ standards and 720Hz touch sampling frequency with extremely low touch latency of only 24ms.

However, when using ROG Phone 5s, athletes will not be able to use the Air-trigger feature (virtual key on the edge of the device) according to the regulations of the Organizing Committee.

With PUBG Mobile, the players will start competing from May 18. iPhone 13 series will be the model of choice for competition thanks to its high configuration and stable operation during the competition.

In other eSports including: League of Legends, Wild Rift, Lien Quan Mobile and Mobile Legends, Bang Bang, athletes can prepare equipment or use phones provided by the Organizing Committee. Most likely, the iPhone is the main smartphone used by athletes in four of the five e-sports at SEA Games 31.

To ensure fairness, phones used in eSports competitions are not pre-installed with automated programs or third-party software interference. Before each first match, the referee team will check and may refuse the athletes’ personal equipment if the device does not meet the regulations of the Organizing Committee.
