The traffic role of the project is fuzzy

Solve the “problem” of traffic jams

The Hanoi People’s Committee has approved the Red River urban planning with a total area of 10,996.16 hectares. In which, the land fund for traffic (from Hong Ha bridge to Me So bridge) accounts for 532.16ha, up to the regional road.

The main road connecting the subdivision with the outside includes two new urban trunk routes along the Red River that will be newly built: Axis on the right bank of Hong, from Hong Ha bridge to Thanh Tri bridge; and the left bank of Hong from Thuong Cat bridge – Ta Hong dike – Vinh Tuy bridge – Thanh Tri bridge.

Other major urban roads include dikes passing through the inner city: Au Co, Nghi Tam, Yen Phu, Tran Nhat Duat, Tran Quang Khai, Tran Khanh Du, and Nguyen Khoai streets. Urban roads connecting subdivisions are determined to have a scale of 4 – 10 lanes, main roads and inter-regional roads with a scale of 6 – 8 lanes.

Some main roads of the Red River Urban Subdivision are built on the basis of upgrading existing dike sections such as: Hong left dike, Hong right dike, Lien Mac – Thuong Cat section, southern section of Thanh Tri bridge… from 2-4 lanes. Internal road The subdivision is studied with a scale of 2 lanes. In some sections of the route through existing residential areas and villages, it is possible to study the reduction of sidewalks locally.

The Red River urban subdivision will be built with 6 new bridges over the river, including: Hong Ha, Thuong Cat, Tu Lien, Tran Hung Dao, Ngoc Hoi, and Me So bridges. In addition, the construction of additional phase 2 of Vinh Tuy bridge and additional research and expansion of Thang Long and Bac Cau bridges across Duong river on the main urban trunk road along the Red River. The construction of new bridges will reduce the load on inner-city traffic, and at the same time connect and develop the land bank along the two banks of the Red River.

The subdivision will arrange about 72ha of land for public parking, ensuring a service radius in the range of 400 – 500m, adjacent to existing villages and densely populated areas.

The next implementation process allows additional research to arrange high-rise or underground car parks in permissible conditions. Study the combined parking lot in green and public land areas, ensuring that the parking area targets are met.

In particular, at public parking lots, it is possible to arrange a combination of urban utilities such as: charging stations for vehicles, public toilets, collection points for domestic waste, gas stations, etc. The location, form, scale, combined urban facilities of the concentrated car parks will be determined precisely in the planning projects in the next stages or according to the approved investment project. approval authority.

The role of traffic in the urban planning map of the Red River is quite faint

Appreciating the planning project of the Red River, Mr. Nguyen Bao Tung (Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi) expects: “This policy is very good to solve the congestion for people. Moreover, the planning on both sides of the Red River. The road will be very beautiful, people will enjoy more. The roads here have been built for a long time, are small, degraded, and congested, so building bridges will be more convenient for people, helping to connect provinces. faster”.

Sharing the same opinion, Mr. Hoang Van Hong (Tay Ho district, Hanoi) said: “This is a very big highlight. When there is more bridge, it will ensure traffic circulation, people trade. Industries from tourism calendar, services will develop, arouse the development position. People are looking forward to it”.

Mr. Nguyen Van Dinh, Vice Chairman of Vietnam Real Estate Association, said that the urban planning of Song Hong will develop all aspects from transport infrastructure, trade, services and society synchronously. This will create stimulus for economic growth, attracting investors. Along with that, the synchronous construction will create growth in neighboring areas when the transport system and regional linkages are promoted effectively.

However, Mr. Tran Huy Anh, Standing member of the Executive Committee of the Hanoi Association of Architects, commented that on the aspects and roles of the Red River in Hanoi with the combined values, the urban planning project of the Red River is incomplete. , detail. The most important issue is that the current status, actual value of the Red River today affects people’s lives has not been specifically assessed.

In addition, architect Tran Huy Anh also said: “The role of traffic in the project is still fuzzy, especially water traffic. When the river bridges are built, how will they interact with water traffic? Or how water transport interacts with road traffic has not been discussed in detail.
