Assoc. Prof. Pham Bao Son moderates the seminar on ‘stimulating young creativity’

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Bao Son (45 years old) graduated with a bachelor’s degree in information technology in 2001. In 2006, he successfully defended his doctorate in Computer Science and Engineering at the University of New South Wales (Australia). , in 2012 he was promoted to Associate Professor.

He used to hold many positions at the University of Technology, VNU, Hanoi, such as Deputy Head of the Laboratory for Human-Machine Interaction (2008-2009); Vice President of Institute of Information Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, cum Dean of Faculty of Information Technology (2012-2016) and Vice Rector (2016-2019). In June 2019, he was appointed as Deputy Director of VNU, Hanoi.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Bao Son focuses on research on artificial intelligence, natural language processing, robotics technology and “knowledge acquisition”. His research works have contributed to the development of science and technology in Vietnam, especially in the field of natural language processing. PGS Son and his research team have successfully developed the first Vietnamese language processing system in Vietnam. He received the “IBM Faculty Award” in 2010, the Information Technology Golden Globe Award in 2007 and the certificate of merit from the Minister of Education and Training for many years.

Young Scientist Summit is an event to celebrate Vietnam Science and Technology Day (May 18, 2022).
