Real name is Nguyen Van Tien, born in 1933 in Dong Anh (Hanoi), he joined the army at the age of 16. He used to work as a special agent in the Political Protection Department (Ministry of National Defense). It was these experiences that led him to a fairly early career in writing and journalism, with works such as the memoir Test of Fire, the novel Indomitable.
