MPV under 1 billion is growing hot, making manufacturers do not want to leave this segment open in Vietnam market. In particular, Mitsubishi Xpander has held the upper hand for many years, but is under pressure from new names such as Toyota Avanza Premio, Toyota Veloz Cross, and most likely a new version of Kia Carens in the near future. All-new Toyota Innova and Hyundai Stargazer.

New generation Toyota Innova
According to Rushlane (India), the new generation Toyota Innova will be launched globally later this year or early next year. This model has been tested several times on public streets. With the code name 560B, the Toyota Innova 2023 can be named Innova HYCROSS in the Indian market, because the Japanese automaker has just registered the copyright for this name. Entering the new generation, the car is expected to receive many significant upgrades in appearance, with many details with a boxy shape and rounded corners.
Rushlane It is predicted that Innova 2023 will use the DNGA platform with Toyota’s monolithic chassis and front-wheel drive, similar to the two “brothers” Veloz Cross and Avanza Premio. The “HYCROSS” suffix indicates that this MPV model will have a hybrid engine option.
The above information was further strengthened when a close source of Rushlane confirmed, the new generation Innova will have both petrol and hybrid engine options. The company does not offer a diesel engine option. Most likely, the hybrid engine will be a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine that combines an electric motor and a battery pack.
Toyota Innova was first launched in 2004, and it was not until 2015 that this model entered its second generation. Now is the right time for Toyota to introduce the third generation Innova, because the small MPV segment market share is threatened by new models from Mitsubishi or Suzuki brands.
Toyota Vietnam still keeps Innova in the product portfolio despite adding Avanza Premio and Veloz Cross. Therefore, domestic consumers can fully look forward to the launch of a new generation of this model in the near future.
