Since 2010 Amazon built downtown Seattle, Washington state, USA into its headquarters with more than 40 working buildings named with meaningful stories.

In a place that is considered an Amazon empire in the city of Seattle, Washington state, USA, not a single building here has the Amazon logo. To better understand the unique features of this tech giant’s working buildings, the reporter met a senior Amazon expert.

Hang Nguyen – Amazon’s senior manager shared: “As an Amazon member, to me, the most meaningful building is Day 1, where Jeff Bezos, founder and former CEO of Amazon ever worked”.

The name of the building is inspired by Bezos’ famous business philosophy: “It’s still day 1” – which means for Amazon employees, every day is a start. So they need to make quick decisions, experiment constantly and innovate. “Day 1” is the guiding principle that makes Amazon the giant it is today. “The inside of the Day 1 building uses orange-toned light, combined with the black of the material to create Amazon’s signature color,” said Ms. Hang Nguyen.

On the walls in the building are often famous sayings of Jeff Bezos. This is also the working motto of Amazon employees. “The most unique of Amazon’s work buildings are the Spheres, which are specially designed structures to help Amazon employees connect with nature at work, thereby inspiring and stimulating love the creativity in them.

Built over seven years at a cost of $4 billion, the Spheres are a combination of three giant glass spheres made up of pentagonal cube structures. “The space inside the Spheres is designed like a miniature tropical forest with the temperature always at 22°C and humidity at 60%. There are more than 40,000 trees originating from more than 30 countries around the world. “.

Consisting of 4 floors, Spheres can accommodate up to 800 people with full functions, from working, meeting, dining to resting. The floors are connected by open stairs, surrounding an axis covered with a “living wall” of 25,000 species of plants.
