Suspect Tran Vo Cong Minh, 23, was identified as the person who opened fire in front of the People’s Court of Tien Giang province.
On the morning of May 13, the police of Tien Giang province initially clarified many details related to the shooting incident in front of the People’s Court of this province.
According to the initial investigation, around 11:10 am on May 12, the People’s Court of Tien Giang province sentenced 22 defendants in the shooting incident at XO karaoke bar (My Tho City) that caused 1 death in March 2021.
At that time, Thach Trung Nghia (25 years old, living in My Tho city), the defendant who was released on bail in the above case, went to the street in front of the People’s Court gate of Tien Giang province, and was surrounded by about 5 young people.
At this time, about 8 other young people came to rescue Nghia. During the fight, an object in the rescue group for Nghia pulled out a gun and shot one of the other group members.
After the gunfire, the subjects fled. The Tien Giang Provincial Police directed professional units and the My Tho City Police to verify and review the suspects.
The police summoned and invited 15 related subjects to work. In which, Tran Vo Cong Minh (23 years old) was identified as the one who opened fire, shot in the buttock area of Tran Minh Tri (22 years old) causing injury. The rest of the young men joined the trouble.
At the police station, Minh admitted his behavior and handed over the gun.
Minh also testified that after committing the crime, he also hid two other guns in the form of Rulo rubber bullets at the football field in Long Binh Dien commune, Cho Gao district.
Police seized the two guns mentioned above and 14 bullets. At the same time, rapid drug test of the subjects. As a result, 3 young people tested positive for drugs.
